Standard Chartered Taipei Charity Marathon 2024 (SCTCM), working with Taiwan Foundation for the Blind and New Balance, organized a running clinic at Taipei Municipal Stadium to prepare marathon participants for the run. This Running clinic, with the participation of Serena Fang, both an actress and a running enthusiast, attracted over one hundred participants including runners and assistant runners for the blind.
The second Running Clinic hosted by Standard Chartered added training for 21km runs, with a limited number of eighty people. Additionally, seven trainers from the New Balance Run Club provided pacing training and customized training plans to the participants.
As a surprise, Serena Fang trained along with the participants. Fang shares, “In the Standard Chartered Runner Clinic, the coach provides personalized suggestions and training for each person, so that he can get twice the result with half the effort.”
SCTCM has entered its first decade, during which time it has conveyed the concept of "care for the visually impaired and sustainable environmental protection" through sports events. As of 2023, SCTCM has reached a milestone of supporting more than 2,000 visually impaired runners to complete the race.
Not only does SCTCM continue to support visually impaired individuals through events, but Standard Chartered Group also helps disadvantaged youth through the Futuremakers, a global charity program. In the past three years, it has helped close to 7,000 disadvantaged youth and accumulated over NT 80 million donation and fundraising for Futurmakers to support and further help females and disadvantaged youth to be able to bravely pursue their dreams without worries and create their own path!
