Futuremakers
In Taiwan, our Futuremakers by Standard Chartered programmes (in partnership with PAVI, TWACC and Garden of Hope) supports disadvantaged young people, especially girls and visually impaired youth, to learn new skills and improve their chances of getting a job or starting their own business. From 2020 to 2024, we assisted nearly 7,500 visually impaired youth and disadvantaged women in learning new skills, and supported them in employment and entrepreneurship.
To expand the social impact of the Futuremakers by Standard Chartered global charity program, Standard Chartered Bank continues to sponsor the largest charity marathon in Taiwan, the Standard Chartered Taipei Marathon. This initiative calls on the public to run together and donate to support the cause, taking concrete actions to help the younger generation and transform the future.
As of 2024, Standard Chartered Bank, through events, public donations, various fundraising activities, and combined funding from the Standard Chartered Foundation, has invested over NT$114 million in the Futuremakers by Standard Chartered. Since 2020, we have allowed runners to make donations when registering for events. In 2024, approximately 1,200 runners enthusiastically participated, and with donations from Standard Chartered Bank's events, nearly NT$3.4 million was raised. The runners' generosity has made running even more meaningful.
